Where there’s a concert, there’s probably a YCAT artist!

It is not only Santa Claus who is coming to town this Christmas. There’s a heady line-up of past and present YCAT artists gracing London and UK concert halls.

YCAT CEO Alasdair Tait told Lark Music: “You don’t have to search far to see YCAT’s impact over the past 39 years with so many YCAT alumni performing across the country.”

“Coming into the festive season it is amazing to see so many recognisable names who are either present or former YCAT artists.”

“The fact that past artists continue to play a vital role at the forefront of music making in the UK and abroad fills me with great pride. It demonstrates that the time they spend as YCAT artists really does have a lasting impact on the longevity of their careers.”

Doric String Quartet
December 5, 6.30pm

Savour the music of former YCAT artists, Doric String Quartet, as they play Haydn and Elgar in the newly renovated Grade II* listed church which was built 200 years ago in the Greek Revival style.

Look forward to listening to a strong line-up of past and present artists at Wigmore Hall, the international home of chamber music.

December 6, 2022, 1pm & 7.30pm
Enjoy a YCAT double, beginning with the lunchtime concert with oboist Armand Djikoloum and pianist Iyad Sughayer. In the evening, former YCAT artist, tenor Ian Bostridge, takes to the stage alongside Cappella Neapolitana and conductor Antonio Florio.

December 8, 11am
Former YCAT artists, the Sacconi Quartet, play at Schools Concert: Sounds of the Skies.

December 10, 7.30pm
Former YCAT artist, pianist Simon Crawford-Phillips, performs with the Nash Ensemble.

December 13, 7.30pm
Violist Timothy Ridout, a former YCAT artist, plays with violinist Christian Tetzlaff and others.

December 14, 1pm
Listen to pianist Ariel Lanyi, a current YCAT artist and Leeds Piano Competition 2021 prizewinner.

Britten Pears Arts, Aldeburgh, Suffolk
December 15-16
10.30am and 4.30pm on both days

Ground-breaking pianist Alexandra Dariescu performs The Nutcracker and I, Tchaikovsky’s ballet for the 21st century. This multimedia performance with dance and digital animation has been produced by YCAT artist Dariescu to engage with younger audiences and those new to classical music.

December 19, 7.30pm

Violist Timothy Ridout plays in the Stradivari Gala Concert with violinist Janine Jansen, Quatuor Ébène and others.
